"A couple of years ago when the big “Six-O” loomed large and stressors at home and work piled on, I decided it was time to do something for me. I met in consultation with Shirley where we discussed my goals at length – a healthier lifestyle, improved physical condition with a focus on preventing bone loss and decreasing stress – and oh, yes, we weren’t training for the Olympics.
Starting with a series of carefully crafted exercises and dietary changes, I am now 10 lbs. lighter, visibly leaner, physically much stronger and I am managing stress and sleeping better than I had in years. It has been a great transition for me and with Shirley’s expertise, I have had no injuries. Finally, I’ve learned to perform a power clean, and I can dead lift more than my body weight for multiple sets and reps.
